BBC NEWS Technology 'Blog' picked as word of the year
The US election is credited with making blogging one of the phenomenons of 2004. The word was the most looked-up, according to a US dictionary publisher, and has been added to its hotlist of new words.
Merriam-Webster defines a blog as: "a Web site that contains an online personal journal with reflections, comments and often hyperlinks".
The word will appear in the 2005 printed version of the dictionary.
